A military uniform worn by Kevin Spacey as Larry Hooper in the motion picture The Men Who Stare at Goats (BBC Films, 2009). The uniform consists of an OD green jacket with a pair of matching pants, a light green military shirt, and a black tie with a gold-colored clasp. The jacket is complete with the original screen used military insignia and ribbons, a “Hooper” name tag, and a “New Earth Army” patch. Both the name tag and the patch were custom made for use on the film. The interior of the jacket has the character’s first name “Larry” and initials “L.H.” inscribed in black ink. The tie has the original costumer’s tag attached with character name “Hooper” and “#7” handwritten in black ink. Spacey appeared wearing the complete outfit in two notable scenes from the film. First, immediately following Hooper’s induction into the ranks of the “New Earth Army” when he attends a fellow soldier’s wedding and casually remarks to the bride and groom that he has glimpsed their future and “it’s a shame it doesn’t work out,” illustrating his animosity and innate rivalry with his peers. The actor again is seen wearing the complete uniform in the pivotal scene where Hooper and other members of the New Earth Army appear at a military tribunal for causing the death of a soldier he had dosed with LSD to determine its effect on psychic abilities. At the hearing, Hooper testifies against the leader of the New Earth Army, Bill Django (played by Jeff Bridges), which causes him to be dishonora
