A non-firing prop Python revolver used by Samuel L. Jackson as P.K. Highsmith in the action comedy film The Other Guys (Columbia, 2010) also starring Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. “The Rock”). The prop Python is constructed of black plastic with functional trigger, hammer, and rotating chamber. Jackson used the prop gun during the opening sequence of the film when Highsmith and fellow officer Christopher Danson (Johnson) are involved in a high-speed car chase and gunfight. Highsmith fires his Python out of his driver’s side window several times during the chase as he and his partner pursue the bad guys through the streets of Manhattan. Jackson used the prop weapon throughout the extended stunt sequences in scenes where a live firing weapon was unnecessary. Jackson again used the stunt gun during the action sequence when Danson and Highsmith attempt to foil a jewelry heist in downtown Manhattan where the robbers use a wrecking ball to destroy several cars and punch a hole through the side of a jewelry store. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, production rental paperwork, and a copy of the film. Categories: Sameul L. Jackson
