A costume worn by Bruce Willis as John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard (20th Century, 2007), the fourth installment in the Die Hard series, co-starring Justin Long and Timothy Olyphant. The costume is distressed with faux blood and dirt and consists of white gauze, a white Jockey tank, a green four-button “Blue Tattoo” Henley shirt with “70 S” written in the collar in black marker, and distressed grey “Gap” khaki pants with “1A” written on the waistband in black ink. Attached are two production tags, one inscribed “John McClane, BW, 56-78” and the other with “SC 70 pt” and both handwritten in black ink. Copies of the continuity photos are included with the sale. The costume was worn in the following scenes: Scenes 70 + 71, when the helicopter begins shooting at McClane's car and kills the driver, forcing the car into a fire hydrant and causing the upstream of water to hit the helicopter, knocking out the main shooter; and Scene 78, when McClane drives through a closed tunnel to escape the helicopter. Thomas Gabriel (Olyphant) opens up the tunnel to other drivers, who are going in the opposite direction of McClane. This costume was acquired directly from the collection of Bruce Willis. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories: Bruce Willis
