Epiphone Casino Guitar. Jeremy Mercado is the audio/visual technician at Design and Architecture Senior High in Miami. He is also a full-time volunteer for the organization Gawad Kalinga, an organization that builds self-sustainable communities for the poorest of the poor globally to end poverty, starting in the Phillipines. He attained an Associates of Science in the Recording Arts and a Bachelor of Science at Full Sail University at the age of 19. In July 2009, he led a group of 27 high school and college students to Palawan, Phillipines to help the efforts of Gawad Kalinga and will continue to do this annually. With a background in fine arts, I have also been heavily influenced by neo-pop art, street-art graffiti, and breakdancing. Also being a guitar player, I wanted to portray a reflection of a culmination of all the above into something sleek and jazzy. They used to call me "Sumo" when I would breakdance, so I have adopted that as my alias. I thought it would be fitting to set a Japanese tone to the guitar by including the joyous victory of the sumo battle on the back, complimenting a lavish lifestyle of the sumo by his flamboyant mannerisms on the front.
