Pencil and watercolor on paper, annotated “Elizabeth Taylor sheer poncho over jersey sheath Huipil type top,” signed “Edith Head. ” A huipil is a Guatemalan style tunic blouse. Taylor and Head worked together on a number of movies as well as Head designing Academy Award dresses for the star. When Taylor left Richard Burton for the second time she asked Head to hide her from the media at Head’s home, Casa Ladera.
