Oils on a SG standard Gibson Electric Guitar. Mahogany neck and body, rosewood fingerboard, humbucking neck and bridge pick ups. Signed by Melissa Manchester. This Gibson SG includes a photograph of Melissa Manchester with the guitar. 39 by 13 inches Susan Sutherland is an artist living in Austin, Texas. She works primarily in oils, harmonizing color and form. Her work explores nature and the sacred , with subjects ranging from the natural to the fantastical and all realms in between. Her love of animals, especially horses, combined with her passion for myth, fairy and folklore, lend a dream-like quality to her work. Susan received her Bachelor of Fine Art in Studio Art from The University of Texas at Austin. She received her Masters in Counseling / Art Therapy from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. Susan has exhibited her works in Austin, Texas and Chicago, Illinois. Her work is also in private collections. “‘WOW! How beautiful’, was my first thought when they handed me this creatively painted guitar to sign for the Austin GuitarTown project. The detail and colors of the artwork are amazing. I may bid on this guitar myself since it is for such wonderful Austin causes” says Melissa Manchester on lending her support to the project.
