A "gold" record of "Love Me Tender" with a small gold plaque that reads: "To MOM With My Love YOUR SON" "Love Me Tender" (RCA) was released in 1956. The 1956 movie of the same name was originally called "The Reno Brothers" but changed due to the success of the song. The film was Elvis' movie debut. Presley was very close to his mother, Gladys, and purportedly went into Sun records the first time to record a song as a gift to her. Gladys also bought him his first guitar when Elvis was 12 years old. Categories: Elvis Presley
