Original black leather address book from Cecil B. DeMille This three-ring binder address book was used by Mr. DeMille in the 1940s and 1950s. Black leather wraps, spine has remnants of typed label. Addresses are typed, but corrections and updates are handwritten in both red and black pencil. Contains addresses and contact information for many Hollywood notables including Louis B. Mayer, David Niven, Yul Brynner, CBS, Gary Cooper, long list of doctors in Hollywood and Los Angeles, F.B.I. Sam Goldwyn, Charlton Heston, Hedda Hopper, Disney Studios, Betty Hutton, Jesse Lasky, MGM Studios, NBC, Paramount Pictures, Louella Parsons, Hal Roach, George Sidney, and many other professional contacts. Cecil B. DeMille (1881-1959) was a true showman and original thinker in Hollywood. He was one of the first directors in Hollywood to become a celebrity in his own right due to his appearance in his own films and his showmanship in his life. Mr. DeMille made about eighty films and all of them were profitable but six. His artistic nature and creativity brought innovations to film, had him chosen to design the Air Force uniforms, was one of the first to use color film, and was loyal, he used many actors over and over in his films, such as, Claudette Colbert, Gloria Swanson, Gary Cooper, Jetta Goudal, Robert Preston, Paulette Goddard, and Charlton Heston No tears, rips, stains, minimal foxing and yellowing.
