A moss and periwinkle crepe period dress worn by Jeanette MacDonald in The Girl of the Golden West (MGM, 1938). The full-length gown has vertical stripes that were created by layering the fabrics. The bodice is fitted and the skirt is full. There are soutache details, tassels at the hem, and lace cuffs and collar. There is also a moss bonnet with flowers that is not original to the costume. No labels. Costume design by Adrian. Accompanied by two black and white publicity photographs of MacDonald wearing the dress. Categories:
