A Victorian riding habit costume worn by Samantha Eggar in the film Doctor Dolittle (20th Century, 1967). Costume design by Ray Aghayan. Eggar wears this ensemble in the scene where she first encounters Rex Harrison. The gold velvet bodice and skirt are supplemented with a yellow felted period hat with a tulle veil and pewter buckle detail and a gold petticoat that is not original to the costume. The bodice has a 20th Century Fox label. The skirt has a 20th Century Fox label "Seggar 972." The petticoat has a Western Costume Co. label "Ann Turner." Accompanied by a copy of the film.
