Acrylics on fiberglass, signed by Rosie Flores. This Gibson Guitar sculpture includes a photograph of Rosie Flores with the guitar. 10 by 3 1/2 feet Craig Hein was born in Neosho, Missouri, but grew up in Houston, Texas since the age of 6. He received his BFA from the University of Houston in the spring of 1991 and was hired by HOK Visual Communications in July. After several years of innovative graphic design, Mr. Hein began experimenting with web technology and launched the company's first web site in March, 1995. He continued to design and author the corporate web site until early 2000. Feeling the desire to focus on more creative efforts, Craig shifted to design-oriented client work involving print, web, video and environmental graphics. “I lived in Tennessee when the Gibson Guitars were created and put up around the city of Nashville. Two of the artists were friends of mine; Manuel and Jennifer Quigley. On the night of the auction I got a chance to walk the red carpet with my artist friends and get my picture taken with Brenda Lee! I returned to Austin in 2006 and heard Gibson and the city of Austin were doing the same project here and missed the chance to create one myself due to my focusing on finding a place to live. You can imagine how wonderful it felt to be asked to sign one of the guitars. Maybe one day I'll have one here in my own backyard!” Rosie Flores Photo of Rosie Flores courtesy of J.P.
