University of Iowa 1958, Big Ten Champions, Rose Bowl 1959 team signed football, approximately 45 signatures including Coach Forest Evashevski, All-American & Big Ten MVP Randy Duncan, who was later elected to the College Football Hall of Fame; All-American end Curt Merz and All-Big Ten First Team halfback Willie Fleming. The Buckeyes defeated California 38-12 to complete an 8-1-1 season. AP ranked the team #2 behind LSU; the FWAA crowned the Buckeyes national champions.
