A yellow satin brocade vest worn by Mario Lanza for an unknown production. MGM label present, reads, "M Lanza/ No. 4819678/42." After a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1947 Louis B. Mayer signed Lanza to a seven-year contract with MGM. Lanza's star ascended quickly, but his time in Hollywood was short. Despite his popular music and films, his personal habits drove him out of Hollywood, and he died of a heart attack at age 38 while trying to revive his career in Italy. Categories:
