A retractable blade sword used by Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (Walt Disney Pictures, 2003). This is a special effects sword created for the scene where Depp and Captain Hector Barbossa, played by Geoffrey Rush, face off in the cursed treasure cavern on Isla de Muerta. In this scene, Depp has to prove he is dead, and this sword is handed back and forth for each character to stab the other. The blade is metal and is spring loaded; it slides back within itself to give the illusion of the blade penetrating flesh. The handle is made from wood. Accompanied by a copy of the film.
