An oval wooden side table, circa 1940, the top featuring a reverse diamond match veneer with a central lozenge-shaped inset, the legs with reeding and turning and connected by a turned x-stretcher. Branded on the base of the apron “U.S.P. ALCATRAZ” and numbered on the base of the stretcher with a stamped brass plate “1996.” The National Park Service describes Alcatraz’s War Work Furniture Factory during World War II and indicated that many items were made for the Army, the Navy, and the guard’s quarters. 23 3/4 by 24 by 14 1/4 inches Categories:
