A collection of items relating to a 1947 Chicago Daily News article written by Frank Sinatra. Sinatra was approached by The Chicago Daily News "Keen Teen" editor to write a Father's Day column for the paper. The collection includes a telegram alerting the editor he would be bringing the article to Chicago himself, the draft copy of the article, a thank-you note written on Frank Sinatra stationery and secretarially signed and a copy of the article as it appeared in the paper. Sinatra's advice in part: "I say, let the kids get to know their fathers. You kids can get an awful lot of high class stuff from Your Old Man if you treat him properly and pleasantly." When the article was written in 1947 Sinatra was the father of two. Categories: Frank Sinatra
