A red finish Guild electric guitar, serial number HK100208, owned and played by guitar great Roy Buchanan during a number of performances in 1986. The guitar is accompanied by a letter from Jay Abend, the director of artist relations for Guild Guitars from 1985 through 1990. He states that this guitar was used by Buchanan and that the original prototype neck with no serial number was exchanged for the current neck, with straight string pull at Buchanan’s request. He further states that he built this instrument from various parts of Buchanan’s specification. The notarized letter is signed, notarized, and dated August 23, 1999. Categories:
