A handwritten note from Muhammad Ali that states "Marge.. if you have to give Tim a check for 3000.00/ O.K./ Muhammad Ali." This note is in reference to a period in 1979 when Ali was setting up his "WORLD Foundation." A $3,000 fee was due to the federal government in order for the foundation to gain tax exempt status. Ali's friend, Tim Shanahan, was working on setting up the foundation with Ali, and Ali wrote this note to his secretary at the time, Marge Thomas, letting her know it was approved for her to provide Shanahan with the funds.
