French, 19th century. Square glass inkwell set into animal form hoof. Inwell with metal hinged lid with scrolled foliate decoration. Hoof wrapped in fabric accented and connected by brass tack nails. Unmarked. Height 4.6 inches. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
