Acrylic Paint on Epiphone Les Paul guitar. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on Sepember 28th 1948, George started drawing cartoons at the age of three. Constantly drawing and painting even through a tour of Viet-Nam in 1969. He started college at Cuyahoga Community College, than transfered to Cleveland State University, where he won the President's Award for Art, and received a full scholarship. while at CSU he did an appreticeship at NASA in the graphic department. After graduating, he worked as a t-shirt designer, and started freelancing for a number of ad agencies. He then received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University in 1983. George started receiving assignments from major publications such as PLAYBOY, ESQUIRE, The PLAIN DEALER, PSYCHOLOGY TODAY, and the New York TIMES. He also started showing his paintings in Cleveland and New York galleries. In 1984, George started working at American Greetings in their contemporary design department. After nine years he transfered to the Alternative card department. Downsized in 2002, from AG, George started teaching at local universities, such as Akron University, Cuyahoga Community College, and Ashland University where is an adjunct professor. George has had over fifty solo shows and has been invited or juried into over four hundred group shows around the United States. He has won numerous awards for his paintings, and is listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN ART. Categories: Les Paul
