An invitation to the 1979 Caesars Palace 40th anniversary tribute to Frank Sinatra. The three-dimensional Lucite invitation is written in gold tone letters against a black background with a raised image of Sinatra at a microphone. The invitation reads in full “Caesars Palace/ Cordially invites you to a/ loving tribute to/ Frank Sinatra/ On the occasion of his/ Fortieth year/ in/ Show business/ December 12, 1979/ Cocktails – 7:00 P.M./ Anniversary Tribute 8:30 P.M./ Supper – 11: 45 P.M./ Caesars Palace/ Las Vegas, Nevada/ Black tie.” The invitation was given to recipients in a gold foil box and accompanied by a letter from Harry Wald dated November 13, 1979, explaining that the star-studded event would be televised by NBC the following year; an RSVP card; and a return envelope.
