Sold for:
$12,160

A John Lennon signed ink on paper drawing, double-sided. The drawings carry the same theme on both sides: an apparent self-portrait of Lennon with an erection about to be fellated by a woman, likely his wife, Yoko Ono. Additional writing appears throughout both sides of the drawing, including "Gary Cooper/ Yellow Belly/ Bollock Naked" and "Gimme The Tooth" among other inscriptions. The notations echo the lyrics of his 1971 released song "Give Me Some Truth." Signed by Lennon alongside one of his self-portraits. 7 by 4 1/2 inches PROVENANCE Lot 273, "Rock & Roll Memorabilia 1955-1984," Sotheby's, London, August 30 & 31, 1984 and From the Collection of Joseph Katkin Jr. Categories: John Lennon
