A black wool tuxedo jacket worn by Alan Ladd as Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby (Paramount, 1949). The jacket has a black satin ribbed peaked label, one-button closure, with two slit and breast pockets. An internal Eddie Schmidt label is handwritten “Alan Ladd 12/30/47 12264,” a Cotroneo Costume label is stamped “Bill Hargate,” and a stamp reads “Property of Aldrich Studios Costume Dept.” The jacket was worn by Ladd when he first meets MacDonald Carey as Nick Carraway at his party and tells Carraway why he invited him to his party. Costume design by Edith Head. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a copy of the film. Categories:
