A light burgundy two-piece western dress with velvet trim worn by Yvonne De Carlo as Lola Montez in Black Bart (Universal, 1948). The costume consists of a long-sleeve blouse with delicate black velvet detailing on the collar, lapels, and sleeves and a matching floor-length underskirt. A bias label inscribed “double” and a Universal dry cleaning label are present. De Carlo wore the dress in several notable scenes of the film, in which she portrays a notorious dance hall performer who plays with the affections of the infamous robber Black Bart and one of his old partners. She also appeared wearing the garments together and separately in promotional images for the production. Costume design by Yvonne Wood. Post-production alterations are present.
