A burnt orange smoking jacket purportedly worn by Conrad Veidt as Stanislas Rosing in The Men in Her Life (Columbia, 1941). The wool jacket has two-button closure, shawl collar, cuffs, and two rounded flap pockets, is trimmed in brown and orange rope piping, and is lined in bronze satin. An internal Western Costume Co. label inscribed “Conrad Veidt #3 43 ½” and in sleeve “40L.” A Western Costume Company stamp is also present. The jacket appears to have been worn in a brief scene at the dinner table while Veidt instructs Loretta Young as Lina Varsavina how to eat. Costume design by Charles Le Maire.
