A grey and black textured two-piece period costume worn by Shelley Winters as Lola Manners in Winchester '73 (Universal, 1950). The costume consists of a long-sleeve scoop neck double-breasted bodice trimmed with black velvet and lace, six black material buttons, black velvet bow on back and lined in grey satin and a long A-line skirt with box pleat hem accented with black stripes, black velvet waist, and hook and eye back closure. An internal Universal International label inscribed “Shelly Winters” is in the bodice, and an internal Universal International label handwritten “S. Winter” is in the skirt. Back section of top altered, velvet and lace added for Katherine Emery in a scene with Winters in Untamed Frontier (Universal, 1953). Costume design by Yvonne Wood.
