A framed "gold" record award presented to the Beatles to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the Capitol Records pop single record, "I Want To Hold Your Hand. " The award is signed on the back "George" by George Harrison. The "I Want to Hold Your Hand" award is considered the first white matte 45 record award. The RIAA mediallion was most likely used from the remaining stock of RIAA walnut award materials as the RIAA transitioned from the walnut awards to the white matte format.
