English, Late 19th century (circa 1890). Black lacquered chinoiserie decorated Queen Anne style chest on stand with two pull out drawers with brass pulls above two larger pull out drawers. Drawer fronts with hand painted chinoiserie figural decoration, Side panels with floral an landscape vignettes. Shaped apron with a figure at center with architecture, birds, and plants. Four drawer chest raised on four legs with leaf accented knees and terminating on pad feet. Height 58.25", width 33.8", depth 19.9. Provenance: Wakefield-Scearce Galleries, Shelbyville, Kentucky whereby acquired by Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.
