Robert Bliss attended Black Mountain College from 1939-1942 and graduated from MIT in 1949.
He was the head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City from 1963-1974, and was later the Dean of the Graduate School of Architecture when it became a separate professional school. Since retiring in 1986, he has been designing furniture under his company, Mobilita.
