This headboard comes from the collection of the architect Eugene George.
George, an admirer of Nakashima, invited the artist to lecture at the University of Kansas when he was the chair of the Architecture School in 1963. Over the years George filled his home with works by Nakashima; this headboard was purchased in 1977.
Single slab with free edge and sap grain details. Sold with a copy of the original order card and a letter of authentication from Mira Nakashima.
