English,18th century (circa 1765). D. Hastings Alnwick grandfather clock with case decorated with chinoiserie figural decoration accented in gilt on dark green ground. Gilt decorated columns at sides of glazed hinged door protecting signed clock face ornamented with figural and animal motif mounts in spandrels. Grandfather clock with two stacked plinths with gilt accented banding below hinged door that opens to weights within. Height 88.8", width 19.8", depth 9.75". Provenance: From the Collection of Mrs. Dorothy Edwards, Atlanta, Georgia.
