At present, only four other examples of stands from the Argyle tea room are known. Accompanying this lot is a copy of Charles Rennie Mackintosh: The Complete Furniture, Drawings, & Interior Designs by Roger Billcliffe, 2009, in which the author believes this piece is the one pictured on p. 64
