Augarten (Austrian, first half of 20th century). Group of two porcelain figurines depicting white horses, one with military rider in red and black uniform. Each with gilt accents on ornament and name at bottom. Both with "Hofburg Wien" on integral base. Marked on bottom with blue beehive mark under "WIEN", "AUGARTEN WIEN AUSTRIA" and impressed marks. Lippizane horse and rider, one of eight figurines of the Spanish Riding School Series produced by Augarten Note: Augarten was noted for the pure whiteness of porcelain, its flawless workmanship and superior painting. This piece was created by the renowned artist Professor A. Dobrich who worked with this factory from 1924 to 1930, marked on Lippazine stallion and rider with "Dobrich". Overall height of Lippazine horse and rider 11.8". Other horse height 9".
