Cy Twombly mixed media on paper attached to a museum-board; inscribed across the top “Dream 1008 Evening” with Twombly's signature scrawled across the bottom; unknown title but possibly from the "Scent of Madness" series; circa 1994; from a private collection; measures approximately 17-3/4" x 15-1/2" with gilded frame and has a sight image of approximately 10" x 8"; in Very good condition. "This piece is done in Twombly's graffiti style and is a powerful resonance of color and form. The possibilities of the scribbled intent is limitless. The creator of this piece of art used a strong autumn-like palette that bridges The New York School to the Art of Now. The graphics used are not contained by the finite limits of the page. This artist's powerful movements continue to move outward which is characteristic of a Twombly work"-Evaluation by Thomas F. Knapp, Appraisers Association of America, Inc.Edwin Parker "Cy" Twombly, Jr. (April 25, 1928-July 5, 2011) was an American painter, sculptor and photographer. He belonged to the generation of Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns but made the specific choice to live in Europe (Italy) after 1957. His paintings of large-scale, freely scribbled, calligraphic and graffiti-like works on solid fields of mostly gray, tan, or off-white colors are in the permanent collections of most of the museums of modern art around the world, including the Menil Collection in Houston, the Tate Modern in London or the New York's Museum of Moder
