CARTIER COCKADE BROOCH; One sapphire cabochon, faceted and calibre-cut rubies, sapphires, rose cut diamonds, millegrained setting. Produced in Paris in 1918 in celebration of victory in the First World War. Incised mark "Cartier, Paris", #3606, French control marks for platinum. 1 1/4" x 1/2". 2.3 dwt. Note: As seen in "Cartier, 1899-1949, The Journey of Style", pg. 185., stating "Five identical brooches with the patriotic French cockade, are recorded in the company books on the same day."
