19th century. Pair of brass metal andirons with large ball and claw finial topped columns above cast acanthus leaf knees. Each andiron raised on two furry paw feet. Back of andiron structure with repeated ball and claw motif decoration in smaller scale. Height 29.5 inches. According to the consignor, purchased from Jeff Jones Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia in May of 1996. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia.
