With metal scabbard and mount rings, handle still wrapped in shagreen and twisted wire, solid iron guard marked 27, blade marked with U. S. to one side and A.S. Co. (Ames Sword Co., 1832-1906, Chicopee, Mass.) 1906 to other side with company logo. Blade is oiled and has tiny nicks on the edge, handle and guard are untouched. Scabbard has been partially cleaned but not completely. Has WWI usage provenance. Blade measures approximately 32" long.
