Likely French, 19th century. Large military themed patinated bronze sculpture depicting six French infantrymen on a rock form base raised on a black rectangular stone plinth. Soldiers portrayed in various positions including three men seated, one turned toward other figures with arm raised, one seated man looking away. The other seated men holding weapons (bayonet and sword), awkward position of figure with sword may indicate later repairs. The three other infantry men standing and looking alert (two wearing hats) perhaps on lookout after battle. One of the men holding a flag with spear form top, the other two with bayonets. Inscribed with "53". Apparently unsigned. Overall height 26.25", width 21.25", depth 13.75".
