Made by E. Remington and Sons; Ilion, New York; ca.1888-1897; Serial Number 12222; Model 1 1/2 Sporting Rifle; 32 caliber; single shot. There were many guns that won the West, including this one. There are surviving photographs of cowboys and plainsmen as well as many films and television shows showing this rifle. Barrel is a full octagon in shape, with barrel length of 24-3/4".
