JOHN BLACK LATE FEDERAL COIN SILVER COFFEE SERVICE Philadelphia 1811-1819. Six pieces with two 19th C. stands and burners by Gorham. Cushion form bodies with applied shell ribbons and rope edges, tapered lids with recumbent lion finials, faceted spouts and handles. The following pieces on hairy ball and claw feet, measured above handles: 14" kettle on stand; 13 1/2" kettle on stand; 10 1/2" coffee pot; 9 1/2" covered sugar bowl; 8 1/2" cream pitcher. The 3 3/4" waste bowl on hairy paw feet marked I. Black on base. All pieces with subtle monograms for original owner W.J.S. (Note: This set was purchased in the 1960"s from David Stockwell of Wilmington, Delaware.) 193 OT."
