54. Coffee Vase. California, Merv Taylor, ca. 1950. Cotton wool is transformed to hot coffee when placed in this vase. Heavy gauge metal. 10 ½” high. Very good. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the former owner to Bill King, in which he explains the provenance of the effect, and the fact that it was made by Taylor before he went in to business as a manufacturer of magic tricks and novelties. The Merv Taylor line of magic did not include a coffee vase.
