498. Blatchly. Selby Shells Co./ Shotgun Shells. San Francisco: Thomas H. Selby & Co., 1909. Small poster (13 x 27”). Originally Selby was an importer of metals, with offices at 116-118 California Street in San Francisco. The smelting works was in the North Beach Section. By 1900, the name of the company had been modified to Selby Smelting and Lead Company. Signed and dated on the plate by the illustrator. Lithographed on paper with a linen texture, with minor creases not detracting from its overall appearance. Glassine-type backing. Rare. B.
