Three Gambling Punishment Proclamations. Vienna, 1715 and 1840 and Rome, 1820. The first being an old German-language proclamation (24 x 19”) in the name of the Kings of Hungary and Bohemia, also covering Germany, Spain, Dalmatia, Croatia, the Kingdom of Slovenia, Austria, and others, proclaiming the forbiddance of gambling and stating the punishment for various offenses. Signed by Godfridt Von Hentschel und Sternheim, with creases from folds and slight paper loss at one crease; the second being an 1840 Flyer Proclamation (15 x 10”) enumerating games covered, including Faro, Twenty One, Rouge et Noir, Billiards, and many more; the third, an anti-gaming proclamation entitled “Notificazione Ercole della S.R.C. Cardinal Consalvi, diacono di S. Maria and Martyres, della Santita di Nostro Signore Papa Pio VII. Segretario di Stato” (Vincenzo Poggioli, 1820). Good.
