English, late 19th century (circa 1898). 12 gauge double-barrel shotgun with walnut stock and detailed metal engraving with scrolled foliate decoration--marked "Watson Bros" on both sides of metal work flanking trigger. With "MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH 3" and "FLUID PRESSED STEEL" on barrel. Each piece marked "5811". Also marked "ZIRMO CO. NYC". Accompanied with cleaning rod and accessories. In original brown leather rectangular fitted case bearing a paper label in interior reading "By appointment to him the Sultan of Turkey, Watsons Bros Gun & Rifle Manufacturers, 29 Old Bond Street, London". Paper tag from Cunard Line with handwriting with 1963 sailing date from London to the United States.
