Three Woodcuts Depicting a Playing Card Game, Chess and Backgammon Games, and Trained Bear with Musicians. Bern: Hans Weiditz, 1530. Each mounted on card, approx. 6.25 x 4”. Very good. Weiditz was a widely respected designer whose woodcuts illustrating Petrarch’s works, in particular his Remedies for Good and Bad Fortune, helped earn him the nickname “Petrarch Master.”
