Full tan calf, spine bands with gilt roll decoration, other panels gilt-lettered and decoratively stamped gilt or blind. Marbled endsheets. Twenty-six pages containing over 100 woodcuts comprise the second volume. 4to. One leaf in the first volume chipped at corner, not affecting text; scattered light foxing, else very good. It was from a copy of this treatise - given to him by mistake - that Robert-Houdin first learned the principles of magic.
