USPC “Hustling Joe #1” Playing Cards. Cincinnati, ca. 1895. 52/52 + J + OB. VG. Box lacking top and bottom flaps, and two cards have slight damage; the AC has a 1” tear at the bottom and a crease across the policeman’s head. Hoch. T9. Two editions were printed, both about 1895. In the first, the courts were colored up to the edge, allowing sharp players the ability to detect what cards an opponent held. In the second version an irregular white border was added around the colored area.
