Argus the Magician (Arthur Herrmann). Archive of Argus the Magician memorabilia. Including contracts, route lists, correspondence, and one large poster related to the magician (in poor condition), from various Lyceum and Chautauqua bureaus. Correspondence is both of a personal and professional nature. 1920s – 30s. Over 50 items. Condition generally fair; edges of most documents folded and tattered. Still, a unique and revealing set of documents. SHOULD BE SEEN.Argus was the stage name of Arthur Herrmann, son-in-law of Ed Reno, one of the best-known and loved Chautauqua and Lyceum magicians. Some of the correspondence in this archive relates directly to Reno and his show.
