Jane Thurston's Cage Production. American, ca. 1930. From a large metal cylinder, first shown empty, the magician produces a cylindrical cage with two live birds fluttering about inside. Finish of cage and canister significantly worn with paint chipped, but fair and working condition. Accompanied by a note in Jay Marshall's hand stating "Used by Jane Thurston." Possibly used in the specialty Jane Thurston performed as part of her father's show in the 1930s, which was developed for her by Thurston's stage manager, Herman Hanson.
