Carlo (Carlo Francis Sommer). Carlo Master Illusionist. Chicago, Globe Poster Corp., ca. 1955. Three-color offset window card (17 x 26 ½”) advertising the illusions of this Ohio-based magician and magic dealer. Framed. Good condition. Carlo owned and operated a magic shop in Toledo, Ohio in the 1940s. It was there that Charles Reynolds met him and purchased his first professional magic trick, The Cups and Balls. Carlo would become a mentor to Reynolds, who eventually toured with him on the illusion show advertised in this window card. Years later, with Carlo’s permission, several of his original effects were incorporated into the shows of Doug Henning and Harry Blackstone, Jr. under the supervision of the magic consultant to both productions, Charles Reynolds.
